I have mold in the basement of a home I will close on, Nov. 1st. On 10-3-2017 I had an inspection performed. The foundation is fine, but what I expected is that the gutters were either filled, or falling down which allowed water to fall directly on the ground close to the foundation. As a result, water leaks into the basement and there is mold present. The water coming into the basement is due to poor water management around the house. I am going to clean the gutters, re-grade around the home and extend the gutter run off drain 6-10ft. I am looking for a bid to clean and sanitize the basement walls and floor. Square footage of the basement is 550ft. I want to start on Nov 2nd.

My house is 115 years old. The original foundation is there and the house has been added on a few times. Foundation consists of some block, some boulder, some concrete, some ?. Floor is mainly dirt covered with plastic. I have owned the home for 2 years and am at a loss with what to do with the basement. I need to know if it's treatable/fixable or if it's a loss cause and I need a new foundation. The basement smells and is noticed on the main floor more so than not. Thanks, look forward to seeing what you guys think.

We have a house built in 1913 and our basement looks like a basement that has had minimal work done to it. We have done some waterproofing measures, but it needs to be finished to a point that we could use it.
