Two Crawlspaces Are Encapsulated in Minneapolis, MN

Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 by Maggie Moen

Having a crawl space can be valuable to homeowners. When a crawl space isn't encapsulated it can be harmful to your home and those who inhabit it, as well to your electrical bill. A home in Minneapolis with two crawlspaces was not only losing heat but also valuable storage space. An Energy Design Specialist visited with the homeowner on the best products for the job.

A crew came out to the house and began work right away. To start, the crew installed crawl space floor insulation, which created a durable thermal and moisture barrier. For the walls CrawlSeal was installed to prevent humidity, mold and rot. To help with the loss of heat ExTremeBloc is installed which will reflect heat back into the crawlspaces. Since then the homeowner's energy bill has been reduced tremendously, and now has more storage space.

Project Summary
