Basement Troubles Solved in Garrison, ND

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 by Danielle Wesbur

Challenge

Homeowners in Garrison, ND were experiencing problems with water coming into their basement. Due to the frequency of the water coming in, mold was being to grow under their staircase. As a result of the water and mold, damage was being done to the walls and floors. After the mold growth began, the homeowners agreed that enough was enough and it was time to take care of their basement needs.

After the homeowners began to get frustrated and concerned about their current basement situation with their sump pump failing to keep water out and damage being done to their home and mold growing, the call was made to Innovative. After addressing their concerns, Innovative sent out a specialist to further evaluate the home's condition.

Solution

After the specialist examined the home, suggestions were made on solution options. After further discussion, the homeowners decided to have Innovative install a new waterproofing system and finish their basement.

The start to the project began with installing BasementGutter around the perimeter of the basement to assure any unwanted water would drain properly into the sump. Next, the team installed a SafeDri Triple Sump Pump which is made up of three separate pumps to make sure your basement remains dry. To finish off the waterproofing process the team installed a Dehumidifier system. This will keep the air in the basement dehumidified and clean to prevent mold growth in the future.

After the basement was waterproofed, the homeowners wanted to finish off the basement. This consisted of wall restoration, new flooring, sheet rock removal, and new wall panels. The homeowners chose to install floor tiles which are designed to allow water  to safely flow beneath them to the sump pump. They also chose to have Wall Panels installed. These panels are meant to withhold water and wont get damaged if your basement does leak water.

Currently, the homeowners are enjoying their new and improved basement living area. The environment in the basement has remained dry and comfortable.
