A full perimeter waterproofing system was installed February 2014, but it was not able to keep the basement dry. The sumps ran constantly to try and keep up with the high volumes of water coming into the system. Innovative's branch manager and specialists revisted the site with the homeowner to come up with a different solution. The basement would leak all the time and the homeowner inherited the property and were looking to sell it. They had to waterproof the basement first. The problem was the home was near a lake and changing water levels resulted in standing water most the year.
Innovative came out to inspect the property further and come up with a permanent solution. We proposed turning the wet basement into a dry, usable crawl space with cellular concrete to get the floor level above the level of the lake. After the installation, IBS would also install a SafeDri Triple sump pump system and encapsulate the crawl space in CrawlSeal liner. This would accomplish the goals of having a space that would be free of water from the lake levels and give them the ability to sell the property without water issues. Raising the level of the floor above the lake level would keep water down, The CrawlSeal would keep the space dry and reduce humidity and odors. The customer was very happy at the end of installation and mentioned he would recommend us to other people that have had similar issues.
